7 Way to Increase Your Fundraising Sales

We stumbled across a great PTO TODAY article on how to increase your fundraising sales. We know it's summer and you don't even want to think about school or fundraisers, but it is time and planning that can make all the difference for your next fundraiser.

7 ways to increase your fundraising sales 

  1. Publicize Early and Often
·        Create a Slogan or Theme for your fundraiser
·        Alert parents a head of time about the fundraiser
·        Promote the fundraiser through the schools website, lunch menus, newsletters, outdoor signs, PA announcements, and the local newspapers. *Don’t forget about using social networking to promote the fundraiser!*
·        Let the parents know why you need the money and what you are going to use the money for so they can be more informed and feel involved
·        Set a personal and a school wide goal for students
·        Have classrooms compete between each other to help raise sales
·        Track school wide participation with a chart/thermometer
·        If allowed, make the fundraiser be apart of the curriculum. In art class have the students draw pictures of what they will be buying with the money raised. In math class have the students calculated the earnings.
·        Set school wide rewards by the celebrating each goal earned. For 200 boxes sold have “hat day” for students and faculty

  1. Limit Number of Fundraiser
·        Don’t have too many fundraiser per year
·        Focus on better results and fewer fundraisers

  1. Promote the Product as a Gift
·        Let people know what great gift Little Lambs Gourmet cookie dough makes for all occasions

  1. Try New Product
·        We have a new pick two program. You can pick 2 brochures to sell from; this gives your group something new and different to sell

  1. Switch the Timing of your fundraiser
·        If you notice the sales not as high, try moving your sale to a different time of year, maybe near a holiday so that can be used as a selling feature
·        Moving the dates around may help you figure out the best time of year for your group to sell

  1. Use Creative Prize Incentives
·        We offer a free prize program, for an Ice Cream Social in addition to our free box of cookie dough for every 15 items sold
·        Come up with your own personalized prize program that will encourage the students to sell

  1. Involve Parents and Teachers
·        Motivate parents by with special parking spaces for the year or free tickets to  school events
·        Motivate teachers by awarding the classes with over 50% participation; teachers could have a blue jean day at school as a reward
